It’s a small SUV version of the regular Toyota Yaris, and Mat’s on hand to find out if this crossover has what it takes to stand out from the crowd against competitors like the Peugeot 2008 and Volkswagen T-Cross! In terms of the design, it’s no surprise that it looks a whole lot similar to the regular Yaris. Sure it’s jacked up and comes equipped with bigger body panels, but the overall look shares a whole load of similarities with the regular small car. Toyota Yaris Cross is a Japanese B crossover designed and assembled in France, with the powertrain made in Poland. What could possibly go wrong? Actually those Fiat 500s Europeans love so much are also made in Poland. And so are radiators for those BMW 7 Series and Rolls Royce Ghosts. Glass, seats, and all sorts of components in cars you drive are probably made in Poland as well. B-crossovers are the hot trend now. Some are better, and some are meh. What’s the Yaris Cross like? I’m here to tell you how it is The Toyota Yaris Cross is a longer, and taller Yaris with optional AWD. The all-wheel drive system is what sets the Yaris Cross apart from most b-crossovers. The only one I can think of in this size and price range is the Suzuki Vitara. Everything else, like the KIA Stonic, is FWD. If you want AWD, you have to look one size up to Hyundai Kona or the VW T-Roc. The Yaris Cross AWD system is a hybrid setup.
